As seen on TripAdvisor - Review of my World Trade Center Tour

Jared was patient, as two of us arrived at the tour a few minutes late. He handled an awkward intrusion in a funny, professional manner at the start of the tour. The level of information he shared was top notch and full of detail, but also sympathetic and caring.

Overall, a very nice young man doing an emotional job in a sacred place.

Compliment from a Mom of Autistic Boy Who Loved My Tour!  :)

"Hi Jared! Thank you for accepting my [facebook friend] request. I'm [the kid with autism]'s mom. I read your blog and you wrote about us, [my son] is the severe autistic boy who
loves trains. I really appreciate for that day, and hope we can go to the city and go on tour with you again."

Background: early this year for International Tourism Day me and fellow guides volunteered at NYC&Co (NYC's Tourism Marketing entity) to provide free tours.  I had two families on my tour of 42nd Street, which included the NY Public Library and Grand Central.  One of the families to join us has a son with intense autism, but we all got along great.

Adventure Travel With Baby and Kid?

A client of a client of mine is a family man planning a tour with a one year old and a nine year old.  He wants "intrepid" "behind the scenes" tours of catacombs and subway tunnels.

I am not a parent, not even an uncle, but my response is "that my sense is that intrepid adventure touring and touring with children, especially babies, are two different kinds of touring."

Perhaps my imagination is limited?

What do you think?

It is Official that My South Street Seaport Tour is OfficialNew Value Price!

At NYC's latest Guides Association Meeting, the South Street Seaport Museum and the South Street Seaport Mall proclaimed that the tour I developed and give, known as "Sails to Sales," is the official tour of both the Seaport Museum and the Mall.

I have a new price structure:  Announced right here and now:  $25 per person, scheduled at our convenience.

The tour takes about 90 minutes and is about 1.25 miles.  It has a lot of fun surprises.  Even longtime locals love it.

Another Client Says:  "I'm (one of) the Best"

"...you are one of the best guides in the city..."

This is from the CEO of an established walking tour company that I do tours for downtown.

One of the tours I do for them is from the Battery to Wall Street and back.  I nick-named it Capitols and Capital .

The other is a World Trade Center tour that is a shortened version of my highly successful Heroes of the World Trade Center TourTM that I developed for a competitor of theirs.  (The deal I have is that this tour is mine that I licensed.)

"Tour Guide of the Year !"  2011-2012

My #1 client, Beyond Times Square, honored me tonight as "Tour Guide of the Year!"

I am happy and humbled.

BTSq works with forty guides, some with a great deal of experience, more than me, leaders in the field.

I have learned so much from my fellow guides: facts, stories, professionalism, and technique.  The guides of Beyond Times Square are a generous bunch, kind, cooperative, and dedicated.

Thank you Eric Gordon and Robin Bass of Beyond Times Square for being such great clients!

Thank you fellow Tour Guides of Beyond Times Square.

"Jared,
Thank you for all of your hard work, thoughtfulness, and being a stand up guy.  We are happy to have you as our Guide of the Year.
   Thank you.
