“The Best New York Tour Guide Ever”
Five Stars on TripAdvisor
I must have e-mailed all the Tour Guides in NYC but finally decided on Jared the NYC Tour Guide - what a good decision!!
Prior to arriving in NYC I think I nearly drove him insane with all my queries and special requests but he displayed unbelievable patience and always responded promptly this gave me the confidence that I would be well taken care of
in NYC.
Jared customized an awesome tour for me and made some really good suggestions about how we should approach the day.
Jared is so knowledgeable and was able to talk off the cuff on a multitude of topics, e.g., I have a real interest in the Habour being from the Logistics industry, he gave me some great insight about the NYC Habour operation on our way to Staten Island.
He was also kind enough to accommodate a friend of mine that decided that he would like to join me on the Tour unexpectedly, he was able to help with reservations and get
him into the Memorial at the last minute.
It was fasinating how he could spontaneously talk about three of the people depicted at the Staten Island 9/11 Memorial - such awesome stories, they will remain with me
always.
Jared is a character with a great sense of humour, a very decent chap that I felt safe and comfortable with, I would highly recommend him!!

I do tours for walking tour companies, public and private.
“Best time at Spring Break!”
Our guide, Jared was awesome. We met him first thing in the morning. We had booked the nine hour tour but ended up going from 9:00am until 9:00 pm.
We had a blast- it ended up just being our family- a group of 4 of us.
Jared was so knowledgeable! He is a native New Yorker and has lived there all of his life.
We walked, took the Subway and the Ferry and finally a cab back to our hotel.
What we accomplished in one day with Jared would have taken us 3-4 days by ourselves!
The tour was well organized but at the same time very personalized. We got to see what was most important to us and plan our time there accordingly.
We stopped to shop at a couple of stores in Chinatown, stopped for Lunch and Dinner!
When we return to New York, we intend on setting up something again with New York1 and requesting Jared.
We are referring some friends as well!
Very good value and great time!

"We so enjoyed meeting and spending time with Jared while we were in New York City recently. Our Girl Scout troop was visiting from Charleston, SC. We had a large group of 20, yet we all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed his tour.
He took us to John's Pizza in Greenwich Village for lunch, and it was the perfect spot for us. He was very knowledgable and completely catered his tour to our needs.
It was a day of steady rain, so he took us through indoor passageways to keep us as dry as possible. He's a super guy and the best NYC tour guide out there.
I can't recommend him enough!!"

The Avenue We’re Taking You To - 42nd Street! – From The UN To Grand Central Celebrate the Centennial of Grand Central Terminal! Tour this temple of speed and visit its monumental neighbors. See one of the first “green
buildings” as well as Tudor City, the first residential skyscraper complex in the world. Check out Clark Kent’s Daily Planet Building Lobby, the United Nations, and Art Deco exteriors. Alphabet City – Community Gardens Tour; Ave A Was Alright. B Was Be Careful. C Was Crazy. And D Was Dead.
The area made famous by Rent, Batteries Not Included, The Super, and 200 Cigarettes was seemingly an urban wasteland 20 years ago. Ravaged by neglect and arson, collapsed buildings became vacant lots favored by
drug dealers and addicts. The neighborhood was the starting point for waves of poor immigrants and in-migrants, and then Beats, Hippies, artists, punks, and squatters. All met in these vacant lots, clearing them out, forming communities, and turning blight to hope – to blossoms, which ironically, sparked a real estate boom. For the first time in its history, Alphabet City is home to millionaires. See the garden founded by an elderly southern woman who watered the drug dealers along with her
roses. Led by a local who has gardened and worked with housing in the neighborhood, tour a sampling of the East Village’s 50 community gardens growing where hundreds of buildings once housed tens of thousands of people. We’ll see urban farming, casitas, botanical gardens, performance
spaces, and wildlife! Lunch is not included; however, group will dine together in a local restaurant. Please note: tour involves walking on uneven surfaces in rustic conditions.

Washington Heights – Many Surprises And Much Diversity
Explore a magnificent museum full of Spanish masterpieces – El Grecos, Goyas, and Velazquez - that would be the treasure of any city, but many may not even know about: The Hispanic Society. Next door is the American Numismatic Society, with nearly a million coins from across
the world and the ages. Across the way is Trinity, an Episcopalian cemetery, the permanent home of prominent New Yorkers, such as Mayor Koch, a proud Jewish patriot, and Fernando Wood who wanted NYC to secede to support the Confederacy. Encounter Victorian era Sylvan Terrace with wooden row houses on a tree-lined lane leading to the 18th century Morris-Jumel Mansion that housed George Washington and a gold-digging Parisian Madame. Now it overlooks Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds. All in the largest Dominican city outside the Dominican Republic, the
inspiration for the Tony Award-winning In the Heights.
Thurs, Sep 12, 9 am-5 pm
Fee and Code: $65, XTRVY 024 W
Harlem Walking Tour - Gospel Music; Apollo Theater; African Burial Ground
Be inspired by a tour of the Apollo Theater, the “Mecca of Black Entertainment”. Many of the names immortalized on the Walk of Fame came from the church with traditions going back to African days. Start the day uplifted by the voices of gospel music at Greater Refuge Temple. We’ll lunch on our own but together at a self-serve soul food cafeteria. Hop back on the bus for a guided tour of the African Burial Ground National Monument.

Yesterday I toured Greenwich Village with a blind couple from the D.C. area. We focused on Bob Dylan, Gay History, and architecture.
"We’re still in New York, still having a fabulous time, and wanted to let you know how much we loved our tour!
It was exactly what we wanted—hearing the history, learning about the culture
and the architecture, and generally just learning what this part of the city is like. We particularly appreciated, along with learning all the interesting facts, hearing about the different stores, restaurants, and other places around us as we walked.
In addition to it being a great tour, we really enjoyed our time with you. You’re great company!
And of course, the weather couldn’t have been better, though you didn’t have anything to do with that part…at least, I don’t think you did! :)
So, thank you again, and we’ll be in touch next time we are planning a trip to New York so we can schedule another tour..maybe the Lower east Side next time!"
